Kristoffen Baidoo, 49

Kristoffen Baidoo was sentenced to ten years in prison for his role as the primary organizer of a major international smuggling plot that brought 1.5 tonnes of c*nn*bis from Ghana to the United Kingdom. The illegal cargo, which had an estimated street value of £4.3 million, was hidden inside commercial sacks of a West African food product known as Gari powder to avoid detection by border authorities. Baidoo took charge of the local logistics by using a fake name to rent an industrial yard in north London where the shipment could be safely delivered and unloaded. When law enforcement officers later searched his home, they discovered a ten-tonne hydraulic press, which is a heavy piece of equipment commonly used by traffickers to compress loose plant material into solid blocks for easier distribution. Because he arranged the physical location for the drop-off and stored critical processing machinery, he received the longest sentence of the group.
