Edward Adjei was sentenced to four years in prison for providing essential support and security to an international smuggling operation that attempted to bring 1.5 tonnes of c*nn*bis into the United Kingdom from Ghana. The d*ugs, worth an estimated £4.3 million, were hidden inside large bags of Gari food powder to evade border security at Tilbury Docks. Adjei's role was to provide transportation and look out for potential trouble on the day of the delivery. He personally drove the main organizer of the plot to the rented industrial yard in north London where the cargo was being sent. After noticing suspicious activity that suggested the police might be watching the drop-off, Adjei made urgent phone calls to warn his co-conspirators that the situation looked highly suspicious, though his efforts to alert them ultimately failed to prevent their arrest.
